Sharon,
Charlie says a big hello. He's doing well here and getting big fast. He was at the vet on Tuesday and he weighed in at 14 pounds, and I'm sure he's added a couple more since then. Everything at the vet went very well. He was very relaxed as the vet checked him over and he didn't even flinch when he got his shot. His fecal sample was negative for any worms and parasites. His ears are starting to stand up, and I think it will be funny to watch them as he learns to control them.
We're working on lots of things with him and getting mixed (yet improving) results. He does very well with his 'sit' command, and we're working on 'stay'. He's hit or miss with 'come', depending on what else grabs his attention. He has slept through the night the last two nights (11:30-6:45). During the day he's not so fond of his crate, but we're working on associating his crate with more positive things like tasty treats. He's well into the puppy phase of biting and nipping at heels, pant legs, anything that moves... He's got several soft toys that he loves to chew on but we're still searching for a great chew toy that he'll love and will help with the teething process. So far he hasn't chewed any furniture, kids' toys, and only 1 of Roisin's shoes. He's also starting to go sit by our patio door to go out for potty breaks, but we still need to keep a close eye on him around the house. He's getting out for a walk a couple times a day. He's just like Boomer when he walks - at first he thinks he's leading the walk, then realizes that's not the case and does much better on the leash. Here are some pictures from yesterday and today. The girls still check the rescue website almost daily to see what dogs are coming and going. Stay warm, it's getting chilly.
