January 2011: Duke and I were just getting ready to celebrate his one year anniversary with me next week! He is a wonderful dog and now looks nothing like how he looked when I got him. He has gained about 10 pounds and now has a beautiful shiny coat of curly German Shepherd hair. He and I also walk every day and we even went on a road trip together last spring all the way to Massachusetts and Maine. We stayed in homes of friends who have dogs and he was, as always, a delightful guest – and everyone fell in love with him.

I feel very lucky to have Duke and I think he ended up in a good place too. Best wishes to you – and thank you for all you do for dogs like Duke. Nikki
