Hi
Sue,
She is a love and so stressed out--it's really hard to imagine what she has been thru. We slept most of Sat after getting home. She ate a good supper but after supper had a BM that was 1/2 fine-1/2 runny. So our guess that she would have upset GI is right on. I have her on rice and pumpkin with enough chicken to get her to eat it. Gave 3 small meals yesterday. Tried a few kibbles with the other this AM --will see. Also doing back and foot messages which she seems to like. On the way home we experimented with names that sounded like Aimee but weren't quite as human sounding--we came up with Bailey and have been using that instead. She is still very confused of course. I had made her a new bed and she seems to be enjoying that. Sleeps on it at night. I got up a wire crate I have thinking it might give her some safe haven but she is not interested in that. Today (after it quits raining)--Fred and I will try to show her the doggie door out to the fenced yard. She is so scared of everything, I'm not sure if it will work just yet. Hopefully as she acclimates she will become less skittish. I emailed our Vet--Jody Bearman who is DVM plus acupuncture. She is very good and kept Marm going for a couple years. She is coming next week with heartworm and tick/flea stuff. In the meanwhile, I'll get her a tick/flea collar as she has been scratching some. I also noticed a lump/sore about the size of a dime at the end of her spine, before her tail. She digs at it some and there is dry skin around it--so I'll be sure to get Jody to check that out too. She seems to like Fred and goes to him for comfort and petting. That's good because I'll be the disciplinarian--I'm checking out training classes with Dog's Best Friend. By the way I noticed in the handy folder you provide that you still have Trish McConnell listed as the principle at Dog's Best Friend--but she has left Dog's Best Friend and set up McConnell Publishing Co and is doing that altho she is still here in the town of Vermont where Dog's Best friend is nearby. She is terrific. Barbara |
