Update from March 2009:

Good day!

I was just checking in at the GSRAW website and thought I'd send in a couple newer pictures of our girl Chloe that we rescued last August 2008.

Anyhoo, that bio was submitted within only one week of having her and I thought you all would like to see some newer pics of her...and her new younger pal, Captain Tony.  (see attached photos)  The solo picture is one of our favorite portrait pictures of her.  She is a very attentive lady and has changed so much since coming home to us.  She's put on weight, her coat has grown in thicker and much softer and she's definitely top dog in our house.  She's made lots of new friends in the past 7 months (unfortunately our cat, Newman, is not one of them), excelled in her basic obedience class, has traveled/vacationed with us several times now - including this past weekend to KY where she discovered that she likes the lake water (but is terrified of the bathtub come bath time), has learned to LOVE her doggie toys and has been a wonderful teacher to our now 6 month old white male GSD, Captain Tony.  You can see them together in the 2nd picture that was taken on 3-14-09 just before they both accompanied us in the Quad City St. Patrick's Parade.  They were a star attraction that day walking side by side down the parade route...a favorite of both young and old the entire day.  You would have thought they were celebrities with as many folks that just had to come up and pet them.  And still, the favorite inquiry to this day that nearly everyone inquires about is what breed of dog are they. And then their amazement when we tell them that they are German Shepherds, resulting with the almost immediate response..."All black &/or white like that?"  And then, where can I get one.  GSRAW of course!

Anyhoo, Chloe is an incredible dog and it still amazes us that someone out there lost/gave up on such a wonderful gal. And THANK YOU for taking her in and connecting us with her.  She continues to surprise us and show us who she is as she just gets better day by day.

Appreciate all that all of you at GSRAW do for this wonderful breed.

Take care,

Jim & Tracy

Holly -

Jim and I just wanted to let you know just how much we are enjoying Chloe...and its only been a week!

She is a wonderful girl, incredibly smart, super sweet and such good manners.  She certainly attracts a lot of attention when we walk her as most inquire on what breed of dog she is and are surprised to hear that she is a German Shepherd and the normal response..."All black like that?"

Anyhoo, she had her first Vet visit and they all just absolutely adored her.  She got a clean bill of health and weighed in at 64.2 lbs.  For a skinny gal...that was quite impressive.

She's getting more and more comfortable in her new home and quickly figures things out.  She's amazing.

We want to THANK YOU for everything!

Tonight we sign up for basic obedience classes...really am looking forward to that starting next week.
