Kato (FKA Gino) is having such a wonderful time romping in our large yard.  He loves his ball and loves to play catch.  He is so smart and was off his lead almost immediately. He comes when called and checks in with mom and/or dad. He has a lot of energy and is busy when he is outside but sleeps through the night.  He’s not too interested in the cats but thinks they might throw the ball for him if he gives it to them. J Kato has been great.

Sadie (FKA Daisy) adjusted to her new home almost immediately. She still has some fear issues if I raise my hand to throw Kato’s ball or go toward her too fast, but she loves to be pet and has to check in with mom or dad regularly.  She is mostly a daddy’s girl, but mom doesn’t mind, as long as she is happy and connecting with her new family. Sadie is really interested in the cats, but mostly she just smells them and tries to get them to move. We have been working with her and saying “OFF” when she tries to nudge them so she doesn’t think about chasing. For the most part though, the cats are dog savvy and don’t move, so she gives up. She has been digging when put in the kennel, so we have been keeping them both in the house while we are gone.  That works well.  

Both dogs love to wrestle and play with each other when they are outside or in the kennel. Sadie, who was shy and withdrawn, is usually the instigator! They love to be outside and play or just lie down on the grass and enjoy the day. Overall, they are settling right in to their new home and surroundings. We are so glad that they have each other to go through this transition together. We look forward to many years of fun and enjoyment together.
