Hi! My name is Jack.
My "owner" packed up all of his belongings and moved them out. I thought he was coming back to get me. But he must not have loved me as much as I loved him. He left me for a long time with no food or water. He left me to die. Luckily the neighbors noticed I was still at the house so the shelter came to get me. They called my owner but he never came for me. I waited for 20 days confined at the shelter. I felt like dying because they had abandoned me. At the shelter, if no one comes to get you, you die. Thousands of dogs like me are euthanized every year because we are treated like disposable objects. Yet our love is unconditional.
I had given up to believe that anybody loved me and sadness consumed me. A lady came by my kennel and I found a glimmer of hope. She was not one of the regular staff so when she took me out of the kennel, I was confused. I followed her to her truck and we went for a ride and she brought me to her home. That is when I realized I was safe. I have made a remarkable recovery in just a few days.
So far, I love kids and I am very gentle with little ones. I would like to go to a home with no cats but maybe a nice female dog to romp around with.
I hope you will consider giving me or another dog in rescue another chance.
