Hi Jo,
Max just celebrated his first year in his 'forever home'. He is a wonderful guy and we enjoy him very much. His favorite game is fetching his ball (when he is finished playing ball at the school playground with us, he carries his ball home in his mouth---it is so cute) and at bed time , when we get ready to go upstairs, he finds his ball & carries it up to his bed (which is next to ours) and sleeps with it. He is still a great 'stay-around' dog-----he loves to follow Bill around in the yard when he does yard work.
I took these pictures of him on a camping trip in the U.P. in August. He also enjoys camping and riding in the car or truck. We have many grand dogs & he gets along well with them. He continues to be a very friendly guy.
The only issue that he still has is anxiety when he is left alone. I am not sure he will ever conquer it. When we leave the house, I gate the carpeted areas off from him because he will urinate on the carpet but is fine in our large kitchen & foyer. I believe Max’s anxiety is part of his personality and we work with it---and around it.

Max is doing great. He is doing fine when we leave him---up to 5 or 6 hrs.---when we go some place. We have to make our selves leave him at times, so that he is okay with it. He loves to go with us and we take him with us most of the time. I am sending you a photo of Max, Bill & I. He sleeps next to my side of the bed but Bill is the one he has attached himself to the most-- never more than a ft. away from him -----I am second in line but that is fine because we are good buddy also. I love the way he stays around us when off leash. Bill takes him for 2 long walks a day---I often go on the nightly walk. He loves to play ball or Frisbee and always brings it back, dropping it at our feet. How ever, we discovered that he is a 'counter surfer' and helps him self to what ever is left on it---even if it is wrapped. I am getting use to checking it before we leave the house. He had some pumpkin roll today!!!!
