Max

From Max:  Hi, I have been with my new family since Saturday.  I have met all sorts of new people and dogs.  I have two homes and they are both a lot of fun.  I have attached some pictures that have been taken of me (they take a lot of pictures for some strange reason). My new family includes mom and dad and my big sister Sable who is an 8 year old German shepherd.  Sable took a while to warm up to me but after about 24 hours with my winning personality, she's putty in my paws.  She rules the roost, but she can't catch me  ;-)  It also didn't hurt that I softened up a bone and then tossed it to her.  She liked that b/c her teeth are a little old.  Mom and Dad seem to like me a lot.  Mom especially likes it that I follow her around and lean on her a lot.  She likes kissing me, scratching my ears and playing tug.  Dad likes have another guy in the house.  I haven't been able to soften mom up enough to let me on the bed or the furniture.  I don't think I'll win on the furniture, but I'm working on the bed thing.  I just stand there with my head on the bed, my sweet brown eyes pleading and my tail wagging.  She won't be able to resist me for long.

When I first got to my lake home the three neighbor girls immediately came over to love me and play.  I have attached a picture taken with Lexi about 15 minutes after I got there – she was mauled by a dog a few years ago and is pretty leery of big dogs… but she loved me immediately b/c I didn't bark at her and gave her big kisses.  They taught me how to go in the water but I don't like going past my private parts b/c its cold.  The girls say they will teach me how to swim next summer just like Sable.  I also met their dog Roscoe who is a Lhasa Apso.  They said I am the only big dog he really likes – I think it was b/c I was nice to him and he reminded me of my old buddy.

At my regular house I met the family next door and their puppy, Ginger.  She is a 6 month old wild child and she wears me out running around.  Sable just pins her, but I like to play chase.  I also met Grandma and Grandpa.  Grandma makes the best treats and Grandpa says he will take Sable and I to the farm when the weather is a little cooler.

Please tell my foster family that I love them and thank them for taking care of me.  I think I will be very happy with my new family and friends.

Love Max
