Max (fka Otto)

Hello Sue,

Sorry, that I have not been in touch earlier.  But life and Max (formerly "Otto") have kept me busy.  We re-named the big boy to Max because he seems more like a Max than an Otto.  Right now, he is lying next to my desk at work and snoozing.  Max has been coming to work with me just about everyday, unless we have visitors from Corporate or Customers coming, which isn't very often.

Max adjusted wonderful to his surroundings and is perfect with the commands drop, sit and gentle.  He still likes to grab your arms and legs with his teeth, but we are working on that hardily.  Do-Da is still a little bitch, even though now when she chases him away, her little stub is wagging.  Max already has his first scars from his big sister, and all he wants is to bring her his toys and play.  Sometimes Do-Da forgets that she needs to be mean to Max and lets him sniff her.  She is just putting on her "big" alpha dog show.

Max is very easy to train, and follows me wherever I go.  He loves going for walks, especially when we go on to the frozen "Little Muskego Lake".  Everything is an adventure for him.

Sometimes I just sit back and look at him, wondering how he ended up as a stray.  We always get compliments on the fact that he is such a beautiful boy.  Of course, I am telling everybody his story.  If they want to hear it or not, and push the fact to adopt from a rescue.  I am currently concentrating on training him inside the house, which is working well.  Max is so eager to learn.

However the other day, he really embarrassed me.  Bill and I were watching Max and training him a little bit, after his session was over and I was just commenting on how smart he is.  He starts chasing his tail, grabbed it and rolled head forward over, coming up with the dumbest look on his face.  So funny, you should have been there.

Having Max as a family member is one of the greatest gifts to me.  He brought much needed life back into the house.  And just wants to learn and please.

Well, my lunch is over and I have to get back to work, while Max is below my feet snoozing.

Thanks for everything.

Silke
