Nala is a very happy girl. Physically she is really struggling. She has a terrible time with her back legs. It takes her a long time to get up and get going. But that never stops her from wanting to go for the longest walk she can. I have to hold her back or she would get herself too far from home and not make it back. She loves her walks and to just lay in the yard. She is very good at understanding signs and we can communicate very well. She has horrible allergies and is on several meds. It took a while but the vet found a med that is working for her now when nothing else would. So the terrible itching and ear problems are all OK.
It will be a bit stressful for her now as we are moving but we are working on easing her into the new place. The more we can communicate with her where we are in the house the calmer she is and the more she can relax. Saying good bye when you leave the house and waking her up as soon as you come in really helps her to feel safe. If she finds you in the house before you come get her she is out raged and she lets you know. She barks and barks and barks, and her bark is so odd it is hard not to laugh when she is scolding you.
She is a great dog. There are days when she seems like a puppy but then there are those days that you know her time here is limited. We will make sure every one of her days is as happy as it can be.
