I am writing to give everyone at GSRAW an update on our little Rueger. He is getting along with his new family very well. He has a 7 year old German Shepherd Dog sister and a 3 year old Black and Tan Coonhound brother. The girl dog is tolerating him and the coonhound just loves him. They chase each other around the yard non-stop. Little Rueger isn’t as quick as the hound dog and runs after him whining. He eventually gives up and lies down in his pool. He loves the water. He would stay in the pool all day if he had the choice. When he is in the house he is quite calm, except for the cats. He doesn’t quite get along with them but a few more encounters and he should learn his lesson. The cats pretty much avoid him. For this reason we are crating him when we aren’t home. He does really well in his crate. We recently discontinued crating him at night and he pretty much just crashes on the dog bed. Rueger has gone through puppy class and is currently enrolled in basic obedience class. He also spends Mondays at tracking class. He is catching on to this tracking stuff quickly. Look for him to receive a title within the next year. He turns 6 months old on the 12th. He was recently neutered and is recovering very well. Little Rueger wasn’t a little one for long. Now at 6 months he is 81 pounds. He is going to be a big one, and that is what we wanted. Again, thanks to all involved with getting Little Rueger to us. Amy and Leonard. |
