Update 12/06
|
Hi Debbie, Amos (yes his name is still Amos) is doing great! We haven't put him in classes yet, but we are working with him at home. He knows "come", "sit", "drop it", and "no bite". He also sits when I put his meal down and waits until he is released to eat. We got 10 inches of snow last Friday and it's been fun watching Amos discover the joys of winter. I'm attaching a couple of pictures. Amos is also growing like the proverbial weed! He gained 6 1/2 pounds in the first three weeks he was with us. His next vet visit is on Tuesday and I'm anxious to see just how big he is now. I'll let you know. Katie |

Hi Debbie, Amos is doing great! He fussed a good portion of the way home on Thursday and was very clingy to Steven that whole day. He also slept a lot, which we expected. Over the weekend he did a great job of acclimating to us, visiting relatives and two visiting dogs. Shadow is being extremely patient with him, to the point of becoming one of Amos' chew toys! After all, what is better than a wagging tail for a chew toy? Things seem to be going smoothly with the cats. Amos barks at them and dances around while they sit out of reach and look annoyed. At this point there is really no danger of him going after them because they are as big as he is and when they hiss at him he backs off. All in all, I am very pleased with the way things are going. Thanks for giving our special guy such a great start in life! Katie |
