Jewel
Update 2/20/07:

Hi Ann. Jewel is doing VERY well. Milo and her act like they have always been together. They are frequent partners at the dog park. Jewel acts like his personal body guard. They love to play together. Jewel has learned quite a few tricks. She has a whole routine of them. It is quite impressive how smart she is. Sorry for no pictures. If you give us your address we can send you some. Our digital camera broke so we can send you regular pictures.

Update 5/17/06:

Hi Ann,
You are not being a pain. Jewel is doing great!! She had her first visit to the vet and did real well. She has improved tremendously on the leash . With a lot of work but it was worth it. She is really improved with her approach to men. She also has been meeting a lot of the neighbors.  As long as it isn't in our yard she does great. She is shepard through and through. She is very protective of Jessica and our home. Which is fine because it was one of the reasons we wanted her.  Milo and Jewel have really bonded with one another. They play together for hours on end. It keeps Jess and I very entertained. You can't help but laugh when you see how they are together. It is very amusing. We couldn't be happier with how things are going. She did have some swelling on her neck but that was taken care of with another round of antibiotics.  We will try to get pictures soon . We are  waiting for our new memory card for the camera to arrive. The other is non-functional. It  is amazing how quickly Jewel has adapted and accepted her new environment.  She receives plenty of love in her current surroundings.  She is figuring out her new role with in her new pack. She is excitable when we arrive home from work. However we solved this by letting the animals out of their crates and then outside one at a time . It has relieved jealousy between the dogs over getting attention from whomever is letting them out.  Jewel is a very excitable dog but, calms quickly with firm direction and of course lots of love. Which she just soaks up.  When calm she is very kind and loving. She now has plenty of her own toys and a dog bed to lay on during the evening hours.  There have been a few growing pains as she determines her role and place with in our family, but nothing we can't handle. We both would like to thank you for this tremendous opportunity. We hope you can come and visit her sometime. We are both convinced she would love to see you. So if you are ever free for dinner please let us know and maybe we can get something planned.  Look for pictures soon. Jewel sends her love.

==================================================================================

Hi Ann,

Jewel is doing great. She and Milo are getting along wonderfully.  As well as the cats.  We have gone for several walks and she is doing much better on the leash. She is a good listener and quick learner.  She has met both our parents and did very well. She is getting over her fear of men but still needs a little work. She eats like a horse now!!  She is well adjusted to her new daily routine and goes in her cage with out incident. She is now familiar with her surroundings and thriving. It is almost as though she has always been with us. She really seems to like her new home!!! We will get some pictures as soon as we can! Any time you would
like to come and visit you are always welcome, I am sure she would love to see you.  Hope to hear from you soon.

Kevin and Jessica
