Blackie

We recently received this letter from Blackie's new family:

Blackie is, by and far, the sweetest pup I have ever met.  He adjusted from day one (I suspect he has been boarded many times in his life... he just adjusted to easily) and has been a total pleasure.  He is also one of the dumbest boys I have ever met... lol.  I think he may have been oxygen deprived at birth.

We are still calling him Black or Blackie -- at least he responds to that.  He is still totally obsessive (ball... ball ball ball, cat... cat cat cat,ballll....) and trying to teach him to leave cats alone when they aren't into playing is proving amusing.  examples: squirt bottles - he loves it, hose - see squirt bottle, newspaper swat - oh boy were gonna play, hand swat-see newspaper, cat claws - oh boy oh boy oh boy were playing...  oh welll life is interesting.

Blackie and Ruby are definately good for each other.  Blackie has learned that he has a voice.  Initially he had only a whiney wimper (shock colar training?) but has since learned that it is ok to bark outside.  He sticks around and seems to be learning the property lines (we all go for daily walks and take the wood paths so he learning the whole 40 acres).  He loves chasing balls but hates returning them.  Ruby is slowly learning to play ball, instead she views it more as "if I get the ball he chases me.... hahahahaha".  Ruby is much faster and smarter than Blackie and she definately knows it.  She loves wrestling with him and to watch them you would think that had been together forever.

Bryar gets along and appreciates not having to deal with all of Ruby's energy.  She gets jealous some, but is learning that the thing to do is go on the walks with us.  So now Bryar is getting more exercise and looking a bit leaner.

Yes life is good.
