Update 03/03/05 Jo, Good afternoon. Good to hear from you! Josh is doing great! Everyday we seem to love him just a little more than the last. He has adapted great and he knows the routine down pat now. He has free run of the house now when we leave for work and has done perfectly with that. He likes to just lay on his dog bed in front of the front door and look outside (and sleep). We did get his ears all cleaned up so he seems to be very healthy now. He had a great Christmas and got lots of presents too. We do have quite a few pictures of him but I don’t know how to e-mail them on to you. Josh is very spoiled and gets tons of attention! I think he loves it! We think he now weighs about 93 pounds, at least that is what the vet said a couple months ago. Anyway, thanks for checking on him. Hope you are doing well. Thanks, |

Good morning Jo, Josh is doing great. He is so affectionate! He seems to be happy with us. He is very mellow for the most part. Yesterday Casey had him outside a lot and he just loved playing with the tennis ball and running all over the place. Last night we did have a scare and I had to call Amy. Josh was laying down and then got up and started making these wheezing sounds. Casey and I got a little freaked out and I called Amy and she told me that he had been doing that some and that it was just part of his cold. Poor guy, he does seem quite congested. We gave him a Benadryl last night and one again this morning. We have also been giving him his antibiotics too and the ear drops. We just wish there was more we could do for his cold but Amy said it will just take time to run its course. She said it is worse in the evening and early morning so now at least we know he is okay when makes those noises. Michaela came over and I think she really liked Josh. We had her check out the supplies we bought for him and give us any advice. Josh seems to like everyone he meets which is great. Josh was leery of the stairs at first but by this morning already he flies up and down them so that is great. He slept in his crate last night and didn't seem to mind at all. This morning Casey took him out and he did pee but then he came in and went down stairs and peed in the family room. We aren’t really sure why maybe he didn't get it all out when he was outside? We just cleaned it up and then shut the door to the family room so hopefully he will realize that room is not for that. Last night for the most part he just laid by my feet and relaxed. I am sure yesterday was a long day for him. Amy was very nice when I called which I appreciated so much. I am sure Josh will be excited when she comes to visit on Thursday. So hopefully Josh will get use to his new schedule and keep getting healthy. I will keep you posted on his progress. Casey and I are so happy to have such a great dog like Josh with us. Things will only get better. I also appreciate your help and time. It so great to have a network of people to call and ask questions. Thanks Jo for all your help. Talk to you soon, Amy |
