Cosmo and Logan
Buddies.....
Cosmo  Logan

I was "recruited" as a volunteer for GSRAW just this fall and the last thing we planned on doing was to adopt another dog, after getting our first dog --Logan -- just this summer from GSRAW. We wanted to wait until next year, in the summer, after we are done building a nice, big fence, after Logan had some obedience training and we wouldn't have to worry about him too much anymore........so far the plan.

Trying to help out fostering a dog and finding out if I would like doing this for a while, we took Cosmo as our first foster dog. He was quite a spark plug and we almost named him Pistol. He had no respect whatsoever for our other dog and we had to teach him some basic manners (don't steal Logan's rawhide…eat your own, don't hump, don't jump on him, etc. pp.....you get the idea?). I think Logan wasn't sure if he was allowed to defend himself against the little guy, so we were teaching both dogs the dos and don'ts at the same time.

After 1 week, Cosmo had calmed down considerably and after the second week we found ourselves saying "well, if we will meet a dog like this again in a year, that might be the dog for us…..but now is just not the right time for us". We kept looking for homes for this little guy. After having him for 3 weeks, we finally broke down and decided to keep him....

The next day Cosmo thanked us for our decision in his own special way……by tearing up part of our carpet (…….oh well, he is still a puppy, right?) and a week later he decided it’s fun to drag one of my plants around through the whole living room…distributing the soil evenly on our carpet....(when and where do they have carpet on sale again …….?)

I guess, before we can foster the next dog, we REALLY have to wait until next summer, when that big fence is done…………it’s probably not worth replacing the carpet until then, huh?   ;-)
