Hi Bobbie,
Just wanted to give you a quick update on Haley. She is doing great!! She is getting a lot of exercise. Fred jogs w/ her every evening on the bike path (I sometimes jog, sometimes bike along) where we can let her run free for the majority of the time since there is 1 mile stretch between roads. Found out that she loves chasing bunnies there. Before the jog Fred asks her "Do you want to go get the bunnies?" & you can tell that she's so excited she can hardly control herself.
Eric & Ryan take her for long walks in the woods in the park, including "cliff climbing" by Lake Michigan, with neighbor dog "Homer" (a male Golden Retriever < 1 year old). Haley & Homer are identical height & love to run together. She has also made friends w/ other neighborhood dogs - 2 collies and 1 beagle (next door neighbors), and 2 chocolate labs that we see often on walks.
In addition to the meds you had her on, we put her on Frontline Plus to cover fleas/ticks since she's in the woods often. She is doing fine with it after 2 applications - no skin sensitivity at all.
The week after we got her we took her on HAWS walk w/ my sister & brother-in-law's dog Cassy (female visla) - they get along very well, so we may take her to stay by their farm near Wisconsin Dells for a weekend later this summer. That same week, I took her to the kids' school to show to classmates. 6th grade teacher was very impressed with how calm & good natured she was.
