Hope

Hope has been adopted!  What a wonderful ending for a special girl!

Hope was found lying in the middle of the road near Monroe, Wisconsin.  She appeared to be dead, however, when a humane society officer attempted to pick up the “dead dog” she was found to have life left in her limp body.  She had not been hit by a vehicle, however it was obvious upon examination that someone had starved her to the point where she was simply too weak to stand or walk, and then dumped her on the rural roadway.  Our organization was contacted by the humane society.  One of our volunteers left work early the same day, drove to the Monroe shelter and picked her up.  She was brought back to one of our foster homes in Dane County where  she received additional medical treatment and nutritional supplements.  Hope has since made a full recovery and  has been adopted by a wonderful family in McFarland.  Her new family reports that she gets along beautifully with their two cats and has become fast friends with Buddy, the family's other dog.  The family has given her a new name of Holly.  Her caregivers are quick to point out that they now have Buddy AND Holly.
