update 06/08/05:
Just thought I'd send you a progress
report on Jake. We walk 3 to 5 miles a day, rain or shine. He is walking
beautifully, no pulling anymore. Very good around crowds, I walked him in a
corporate marathon. When people come over, he's absolutely perfectly well
mannered. I'm very proud of him. He's calm, everyone remarks on how relaxed
he is. He walks well with dogs he knows, he has several friends. And he is
now starting to control himself around strange dogs. No barking anymore, He
also loves to cuddle with my daughter. Right now he's passed out, we were
out all day. I can't thank you enough I'll send some pictures soon,
Thank you, Patricia |

Update 03/01/05
Jake and I are doing great. He's been to the vet about 2 weeks ago. He was
limping. I figured he ran into something while running after a rabbit. The
vet says he's growing so fast sometimes they get growing pains, so we put
him on some meds for a while. Its ok now, also we started him on heart worm
and flea meds. He was very good. I also had him groomed and the girls said
he behaved the whole time. He could care less when someone comes over but
still likes to bark at train noises for some reason. I took him walking with
my girlfriend’s dog and he did great after the first 5 minutes. He has bones
and chew toys all over the house. Oh to come back as a well loved dog heh?
I've been brushing him about twice a day. That warm spell really got him
shedding and he lets me vacuum him with a dog grooming attachment I bought.
So I think he's calming down a lot. He only really gets nuts when he is
exposed to something new, don't we all but we're both quite content. Hope
you're doing well. Thanks for writing. Bye, Pattie |

We're
doing great. Jake has learned to come and we're working on stay. He's
eating like a horse. he's going to the vet on Monday for a checkup. He
goes with me wherever I go. We are also trying to get over our
aggressive behavior towards other dogs. His prey instinct is revving up.
Lots of squirrels and rabbits to chase. Sometimes I get a little wore
out; we've been spending an average of 3 to 4 hours outside walking and
exploring. But he naps with me too. Ha Ha I need it by then. Anyway,
thank you again, he has made my life busy, exciting, and quite pleasant.
I can't imagine not having him now. I will send pictures soon.
Thank you ,Patricia |
