Lexis
(formerly known as Dutchess)

Lexis is such a wonderful addition to our family. She seemed to bond with us from the moment we met her, and us to her. I was never one for doggy kisses on the face and was usually quite good at dodging them, but she managed to give me at least half a dozen on the car ride home the day we picked her up! Now I can't resist them and even ask for them, which she gladly gives, she is such a sweet girl. She is also quite the cuddler, she gets her own spot on the bed with us, and on the weekends when we sleep in, she likes to crawl up and lay entirely on me while on her side and puts her head on my chest (perfect positioning for her to look up at me and give more kisses on my face). During the week, she knows what the alarm clock means and likes to help us get up. She will sit next to the bed staring at us and crying until we open our eyes and will then jump up onto the bed and lay down again once her work is done. Oh yeah, and don't forget a belly rub!

The first weeks home went really well, she followed us around constantly and seemed to get a little overwhelmed when Mike and I would be in different rooms and she couldn't be with both of us at the same time - it's hard work having to keep track of 2 people at the same time! She doesn't get overwhelmed anymore, but still loves to be right beside us at all times wherever we are. She also loves to go for car rides and will try to "catch" the cars passing us like it was a fly going by, which is just hilarious, and she gets upset when she doesn't catch them!

Lexis and Rollie have made great progress together, Lexis loves to give Rollie a "bath", which Rollie takes very well. She still wants to chase Rollie anytime he hops away quickly, so we're still working on that, but they get along fine when not playing chase, as you can see.

Thank you so much for everything!!

Laura, Mike, Rollie & Lexis
