Here's a couple of photos of Niko enjoying a new NylaBone that's more his size. About an hour before these pictures were taken, Niko was busy running up and down the Jr. High School football field chasing his yellow football, which may account for his sleepy expression in the second picture. We worked on the "Down" command for about 5 minutes before bed and he was performing it pretty regularly after about 8 tries. A fast learner, eh? (Of course, treats help alot ...)
Niko is getting situated with us and his new surroundings. We are giving him plenty of petting and loving, and calmly talking to him. He is getting less nippy already and has learned to take treats nicely (that is, without trying to take your hand off along with the treat!). He really does want to please.
Niko is a great little guy and he is going to be another magnificent example of the GSD breed. He is so adorable and we feel lucky to have him and be his guardians and companions.
Well, off to bed. Niko has been sleeping like a baby for about two hours in his crate, but he'll probably wake up and follow Angela & me up to the bedroom.
