Hi Tracy- Just wanted to let you know Shadow is still doing well. She has gotten a little better with the biting but still does it from time to time. When she is in her play mode she is tough to calm down because she is always jumping on you. My mom has a lot harder time with her because she like to try to pull more on her and see what she can get away with. She had an encounter with the cats last weekend. She was outside and went up on the deck where the cats were. I heard some commotion and called her down, she came down the steps and one of the cats came down after her!! Tigger gave her a couple of right claws and then Shadow thought it was play time. She chased Tigger around the house and up a tree. Tigger came down after about 10 minutes. If push came to shove I don't think either cat would take any crap from Shadow. I am going to find an obedience course to take her to. She is doing much better but think that would really help her. Her mind does drift from time to time, I guess kind of like ADD or ADHD. She gets to play fetch every night 4x then she tires out. She is also outside whenever someone goes out. She is getting pretty good with not having the nose to the ground all of the time and now as long as she has her ball she is okay. She is more trustworthy, but still needs to be tied up when outside unless she is under direct supervision. Sometimes she barks and wants to go after people who walk or go by on bikes and other times she just watches them. She does get very angry with visitors, and can be very intimidating, which we have no problems with. We have used the water bottle on her when she jumps on us, bites, or jumps on the furniture. She does not like that. It has also kept her away from the cats somewhat too. I think she has gained 8-10lbs...she likes her Puppy Chow...but is strange, will eat a little at a time. Never eats it all at once. She still sleeps in the crate and goes in there at night before her bedtime. She has set her bathroom time at night at around 8pm. She goes down to the door and makes noises. As we found out if she makes noises and doesn't get let out she leaves a surprise for you. Did that once. Otherwise she has been very good that way. I think that's about it for now. It seems as if she has been with us for 3 months not 3 weeks!! Got to go. Jim |
