Update 04/09/05: Hi Debbie! Wow, it is hard to believe that we have only had Sierra for a little over 6 months now. She is doing really well! I wanted to send you some updated photos of her. The first two are of her "working". Tom ran to the store so she has to stand guard at the door until he returns safely. The others are of her on her bed and with her toys. She was just getting used to toys when we brought her home but now she is a toy hoarder! She collects them and takes them to her crate so at night she has all her toys with her. While we are at work, we make sure each of the dogs have a bone with them to play with during the day. Sierra will run in from outside and straight into the dog room and she collects everyone's bones and takes them into her crate. I think it is creative thinking because she doesn't want to get bored during the day! Overall, she has really come along in the time we've had her. She is still skittish around loud noises and will run if spooked but she is learning what is normal noises and what isn't. She has put on weight and her coat is beautiful. We took her to obedience school and she did well. She loves to play wrestle and uses her big paws to bat at her opponent. And in the morning, while getting ready for work we get our exercise because she waits outside the bathroom or closet and as soon as we head her way she rolls over to have her belly rubbed so we are constantly stepping over or around her after we rub her belly. Thank you to you and the GSRAW for rescuing such a wonderful dog. She is where she belongs and will be our forever Velcro dog. We feel fortunate to have her with us! Kelly |

Update 11/17/05: Sierra joined out family two months ago. And what a wonderful addition she has made! She joined out family of 3 dogs and a parrot. We had some rocky days in the beginning with everyone adjusting to Sierra being there and her getting use to the routine of the house. Things have started to settle down and everyone is getting along now. Sierra loves to use her paws for everything! And she doesn't realize that she is bigger than the other dogs yet so she likes to whack at them with her paws. This can be intimidating due to her size, but quite entertaining for the people of the house! She is so loving and affectionate. She loves to give kisses and she gives you not one but both of her paws anytime she can! She is a silly girl and makes us laugh often. We feel very fortunate that we were chosen as Sierra's forever family. She has made a great addition to our home. |

I just wanted to write and thank you for selecting us for Cicily's forever family! She has been a great joy to have around. She slowly warmed up to me in the car and I let her check me out at her own pace. She'd get a little closer each time and by the time we got to Madison she gave me a real quick kiss. When we stopped to sleep in a rest area, she curled up next to me with her head in the crook of my arm. She was a little stubborn and wouldn't go the bathroom the whole way back, but our Shepherd Zoey didn't go the whole way up from KY! Introducing her to the other dogs went okay. We had a little aggression from our labs in the front yard, but once in the house everyone has been getting a long great. Cicily has had several accidents in the house but I figure she is just getting use to things. So far this morning, we have not had any problem and she is going outside and loves the positive praise she gets for doing so. She and Dakota have become great buddies already and are running from one end of the house to the other and playing with toys and each other. And if she is not chasing Dakota, she is under my feet. She is making a great addition to our family. Thanks Again! Kelly |
